  1. Hi Charlie
An excellent effort with your acrostic poem. I can see you have a great knowledge of life in the trenches, by your use of authentic nouns. The image you have selected enhances your writing very well.
It must have been a very surreal and incredible moment when the armistice was announced. It is hard to even imagine the sense of relief after living in trench conditions for so long.
Did you find using the letters of ANZAC DAY provided a good opening to each sentence? Sometimes acrostic poems can be tricky.
    Great effort

  2. Hi Charlie, Your poem really tells a story, and a vivid one. You have used rich and specific vocab. I wonder if Katie & Matt remember the roles they played in the Gallipoli play ?

    1. Hi Mrs Shaw,
I hope you are having a relaxing break but it is very annoying we can't go and visit people. I asked Matt and Katie and Matt said his name was Percy, and Katie was one of the nurses.

  3. Hi Charlie, Your poem created such a good picture in my mind. Aren't we fortunate to only have COVID 19 to live through and not a war. Mrs Bayley

  4. Hi Mrs Bayley,
I am very glad we only have COVID 19 to face not a World War! I hope you are having a nice break but it is very annoying we can't visit people.
