Lightning

Our topic work this week has been around lightning as our horse was recently stuck by lightning and sadly died. We were challenged to make a poster and find interesting facts.. here is mine!

    HI Charlie
    Very interesting facts. I am curious to know why the Empire State building attracts so many lightning strikes. Do you know where this building is Charlie and maybe why it is struck so frequently?
    It is hard to imagine lightning being 6 times hotter than the sun! No wonder our poor old horse was killed instantly.

    Hi Charlie,

    Your poor horse! Matawai seems to attract a lot of lightning stories. Quite a few years ago my Uncles brothers house - up the Te Wera he used to live (I think!) burnt to the ground due to being struck by lightning. Also our neighbour is not really sure what happened but got a massive electric shock after some lightning. You be careful out there!!
